Logistic approaches to managing reserves in railway transport enterprises.

The solution of the issues of improving the stockpile management systems at railway enterprises aimed at reducing logistics costs for the maintenance of stocks and efficient supply of material and technical resources will contribute to saving costs for the provision of railway transport services, improving the financial condition of enterprises, and improving the quality of transport services.
The purpose of the article is to develop approaches to improving the system for providing railways, railway transport enterprises with material and technical resources on the basis of theoretical and applied aspects of logistics of stocks.
The main tasks of the material and technical supply services as structural subdivisions of the Ukrainian railways are considered and the main measures for improving the provision of railway transport facilities with material and technical resources are formulated. Monitoring of the state and use of reserves is proposed to be carried out on the basis of the results of a combined ABC-XY2 analysis. Typical logistic solutions in the field of management of the stocks of railway transport enterprises are considered with respect to the nine group of reserves formed when ABC- and XY2-analyzes are combined. The use of logistics approaches to the process of stock management in rail transport has made it possible to simplify the supply system, reduce the costs of promoting material, financial and information flows and accelerate inventory turnover.
