Global transformations of the world labor market: migration aspect

Abstract

The article analyzes the manifestations of migration factors that cause transformational shifts in the world labor market at the stage of globalization. It is emphasized that at the present stage the formation of the phenomenon of global migration is observed. It is concluded that since the economic factor is dominant among the causes of international migration, labor migration plays a leading role in the system of labor resource provision in the conditions of globalization. At the same time, due to the dominance of high-income countries in the structure of the distribution of labor migrants, the question arises of the optimality of the migration redistribution of labor on a global scale. It is determined that despite understanding the nature of migration losses for donor countries, the benefits of recipient countries are not obvious due to the complexity and multidimensionality of the migration phenomenon. In general, migration has a multidirectional impact on the parameters of socio-economic development of countries, producing a complex of problems of an economic and social nature through its global impact on the world division of labor, in particular, causing a polarization effect. It is substantiated that since migration policy plays a subordinate role in relation to the strategies of economic development of countries, macroeconomic analysis should be the basis of economic development models.
