Labor migration in the conditions of globalization: methodological and analytical discourse

The article analyzes the causes and factors of international labor migration, identifies the latest manifestations of international labor migration in the conditions of globalization. It is emphasized that labor migration plays a leading role in the system of international migration movements. The types, causes and functions of international labor migration are highlighted, and the special role of intellectual migration in the system of labor resource provision is stated. It is established that the main part of international migration flows is directed to countries with high income levels, which are leaders in terms of the share of labor migrants in the total labor force. It was determined that in all groups of countries the level of economic activity of migrants is higher than the corresponding indicator of the indigenous population. An analysis of international migration was carried out through the prism of the Human Development Index, the results of which indicate the stability of labor migration trends towards developed countries, especially in the highly skilled segment. A new phenomenon in the system of the global labor market was identified – the formation of transnational labor markets, international in nature and intra-corporate in structure. The need to form a global migration policy aimed at a fair distribution of human resources within the framework of the global division of labor was substantiated.
